Liar GameY

Liar Game

1. Round 1 - 100mil yen
Nao Kanzaki, an honest and naive college student, receives 100 million yen (about $1,000,000) and an invitation to participate in the "Liar Game Tournament".

The aim of the game is to trick the other players out of their hundred million yen. At the end, the winner gets the hundred million and the loser is a hundred million yen in debt. She discovered her opponent was her elementary school teacher, Mr. Fujisawa. When Nao was easily tricked into giving her opponent the 100 million yen,
she asks Shinichi Akiyama, an ex-convict and genius who recently got out of jail, for help.

Though Akiyama was reluctant at first, he agrees to help on the condition that he takes half of the prize money nao receives as his reward. Akiyama succeeds in taking all the money and winning the game for Nao. The forgiving Nao however helps him pay the debt, because she wishes to save Mr. Fujisawa who have fallen into debt since he loses the Liar Game.

2. Round 2 - Minority Rule
After winning the 1st round, Nao believes that marks the end of the horrible game in which she was forced to participate initially. She did not realise that by showing mercy to Mr. Fujisawa, she was forced to participate in the next round of the Liar Game.

Forced to keep participating in the Liar Game, Nao and the other contestants of the second round are reunited into a mansion to take part into the tricky "Minority Rule Game", where each round a question with two options is presented, and those who voted with the majority are eliminated. Nao is relieved to know that Akiyama exchanged places with a contestant to infiltrate the game and help her, but they must also be careful with a mysterious player, X, who also did the same trick with the intention to win the entire prize money for his/herself. Nevertheless, Akiyama outwits X and emerges as the victor for the game. However instead of using the prize money to drop out the game, he distributes the money to the other contestants for them to pay off the one hundred million debts incurred during this game and proceeds to the third round.

3. Revival Round - Restructuring Game
Despite being relieved from the Liar Game thanks to Akiyama, Nao decides to participate in the Revival Round where losers from the second round are given another chance to continue in the game. In a game called "Downsizing Game" or "Restructuring Game", all players must cast votes on other ones and the least voted one is eliminated. Nao is put in a dire situation when she is tricked by Yuji Fukunaga, the same dangerous player X they faced in the second round.

Fukunaga VS Kanzaki - Light VS Darkness
Fukunaga proposes to have a match with Nao. This game involves two poker cards - one is the Joker while the other is a misprinted double-sided card. Nao was scammed by Fukunaga during the game and lost 30million to him. Akiyama miraculously turned up and teach Nao a way to make Fukunaga pay for what he did.

At that point of time, Nao was on the verge of being eliminated, which also mean that she would have to bear the one hundred million debt. Thanks for Akiyama, the table is turned, making the game under the control of Nao. Similar to the previous round, although Nao wins the Revival Round, she returns all the prize money to the remaining players in order for them to pay the debts occurred in this round.

4. Round 3 - Contraband Game
Nao, Akiyama, Fukunaga and the six remaining players from the revival round must participate in the third round as a team in a game entitled "Contraband" where the team who manages to smuggle more money through the other team's vigilance wins. But the opposing team is commanded by the mysterious Norihiko Yokoya who claims to have Clairvoyance powers (being able to see through object), and easily obtain a headstart upon them. Akiyama devises a scheme to turn the tables against Yokoya but the team is put into serious danger when Yokoya uses the same strategy on them first.

Running out of time, Akiyama decides to convince some of Yokoya's teammates to join his side in a last try to make a comeback. Yokoya manages to see through Akiyama's plan to secure their team's victory. To counteract to this, Yokoya reveals himself as the Directing Manager of the Multi-Level Marketing Corporation which drove Akiyama's mother to death, (In this story, the MLM is protrayed as company which scams innocent ppl money although i still not sure how ppl are being deceived. In reality, MLM are companies which hire ppl to hire ppl. How exactly they are functioned is unknown to me as i dont wish to get involved in it especially since i was once nearly being invited to join it.) successfully pushing Akiyama to state of insane, or so he thought.

As the results are announced, he finds that he fell into their trap. Nao pursuaded Akiyama to forgive Yokoya and again she save both teams by suggesting a tie to be made. (Though she may appear weak and naive, Nao is often able to make profound insights concerning the Liar Game and "human nature" that can astound even the most formidable of opponents.) As such, all players have freed themselves from the LGT with no profits yet no debts.

Even within the LIAR GAME, people can trust one another.

Liar Game 2

2 Years Later Round 4
It was thought the LGT was over upon hearing the sponser for the previous rounds had pass away. In fact, he was just one of the many rich sponsers of LGT. Therefore, Akiyama and Nao decided to continue Round 4, hoping to destroy the entire LGT organization. This time round, They join alliance with Fukunaga.

1. Vangard Battle (Fukunaga) - 24-Shot Russian Roulette

Similar to the traditional Russian Roulette, each players are to put 3 bullets into the gun and take turns to shot themselves. The game ends when all the 6 bullets are fired, and the loser will be the one being shot the most. Fukunaga is winning in the first place, but Nao tricks him to force the game to draw. The foolishly honest Nao had actually realise that in order to save everyone from this game, they have to stop any more money going back into LGT's hand.

2. Centre-Field Battle (Akiyama) - 17 Poker

Similar to the traditional Poker, the player with the best hand will win.The game will be held for 10 rounds and the winner goes to the side with the most amount of chips won. The only different thing is that the game only comprises of 17 cards, as name suggests, basically all the face cards A J Q K and one Joker (as a wild card). The other player thought he get the upperhand since he is able to locate the Joker which is essential for winning, unknowing that Akiyama has already come out with a even better solution to win this round.

3. General Battle (Kanzaki) - Stationary Roulette
Unlike a traditional roulette where the wheel is spun by the dealer and the ball is cast later on, the players will take turns to be the dealer and they choose the winning pocket's number (where in this case, the Stationary Roulette has only 4 pockets) without the other party knowing which number it is. Other than being the one placing the ball, the player still have to bet on where the ball has landed. In another word, the dealer has to trick his opponent to choose the wrong number. This time round, Nao decides to win the battle without asking for help from Akiyama. She successfully tricks the other player and wins the most money. Similarly to the previous rounds, she returns the money to the other party in hope to save them from this game while the three of them enter the Semi-Final.

Semi-Final

In this round, Akiyama faces his only defeat in his life - Katsuragi Ryo, who is actually his classmate during his uni school days.

Only Human can show kindness to strangers , becoz an act of kindness causes other people to think well of that individual. Continue to give freely and one will eventually exprience acts of kindness in return. In short displays of kindness are really acts of selfishness. Humans are all hypocrites by nature.

1. First Half - Angels and Demons
When an Angel comes in contact with another Angel, they create a holy crest. However, when an Angel comes in contact with a Demon, the Angel will transform into a Demon. In addition, if that particular Angel happens to possess a crest, the Demon is being transform back to an Angel, whereas the Angel still have to become a Demon. Fortunately, the Demon can transform itself back to Angel if he possess a crest himself. This game will start 2 players being the Demons while the rest are the Angels. At the end of this game, players who are Angels with 4 or more crests will win the game and go to the Second Half of the Semi Finals. The losers, obviously, go into one hundred million debt. Can Nao pursuade the others to co-operate such that all players will win this round? Or will Katsuragi defeat Akiyama as she did before ?

2. Second Half - Gold Rush
Similarly to the Contraband Game, this time round the money is replaced by real GOLD BARS. Thanks for Nao, all players have survived the previous round. But now they have to spilt up into two opposing teams - Akiyama VS Katsuragi. Being skilled at manipulating the other players, Katsuragi was on high hope of winning this game. Akiyama decides to use the same method, by convincing Katsuragi's teammates to join force with them. Initially, Katsuragi refuses to accept that there are still honest people like Nao. Eventually, Katsuragi gives in upon realising that Nao is genuinely trying to save everyone from LGT, including Katsuragi herself. Nao also help to resolve the 恩怨 between Akiyama and Katsuragi.

This game isnt juz about decieving ppl, it test juz how far we can go in our ability to trust others.

Liar Game (Movie) : The Final Stage
Right now i can only find Chinese translation since the movie just come out recently. Awww~ I really hope this movie can come into Singapore so i can go watch it. It will be best the dvd will be out and i can go buy it!

Finals

Prologue Red
Final stage I 真实的红苹果
Final stage II 失乐园
Final stage III X
Epilogue Truth

The Garden of Eden Game

Kaiji : The Ultimate GamblerY

The main character of the story, Kaiji Itō is in poverty - he lives by himself in a slum and is constantly in debt. He bides his time by playing cheap gambling games with neighbors, though he always loses. Kaiji's unrelenting misery continues until he is paid an unexpected visit from a woman named Endō, who wants to collect an outstanding debt owed to him in Kaiji's name. Endō gives Kaiji two options - either spend ten years to repay this outstanding debt, or board the gambling ship Espoir ("hope" in French) for one night to clear the debt.

Round 1 : Restricted Rock, Paper, Scissors
The game featured in the gambling tournament the first night Kaiji spends on Espoir. This gamble is similar to the original game but with a twist - the hand gestures are represented by cards, and contestants are given four cards each with the same gesture for a total of twelve. Contestants are also given three plastic stars as collateral to bet on each round of play - whenever one loses a round, the winner gets a star from the loser and the cards are being deposed.

To survive the night, contestants must maintain their three star pendants and lose all of their gesture cards. Cards cannot be destroyed or thrown away, to do so is subject to instant disqualification. Due to the simple nature of the game, single matches can be completed within ten seconds, and players can win or lose in a matter of minutes. Winners are allowed to go upstairs, where any extra star pendants are exchanged for cash and they lounge in a small cafe. In the event of a loss, individuals are taken to away to a back room by men in black suits.

Round 2 : Human Derby
The gamble seen during Kaiji's competition opposite the Starside Hotel. In contrast to Restricted Rock, Paper, Scissors, contestants are not briefed on the rules of the Human Derby, and are unaware of the nature of the gamble until they accept participating in it.

Contestants are expected to walk across a long, steel beam which is linked to the top of the Starside hotel. Since the hosts concluded that the crossing of the bridge would not be entertaining if the contestants could give up and use their hands to assist in their retreat off the bridge, a mild electric current is run through the steel beams - while not powerful enough to cause serious injury or be fatal, the current is enough to stun contestants, causing them to lose balance and fall from the bridge. The pushing of contestants to get out of the way is not condoned but is in fact encouraged, since the contestants (the "horses") are being bet on by spectators over at the Hotel, who enjoy the struggle to the other side.

Contestants who fall from the beams suffer severe injury - depending on how and where they land, their injuries can range from serious to fatal. Psychologically, this bridge is much more challenging because of the greater peril involved.

Round 3: E-Card
As the name suggests, it is a card game. Like Restricted Rock, Paper, Scissors it also has psychological strategy to it and it also uses three card types. There are three cards, the Emperor (koutei), the Citizen (shimin), and the Slave (dorei). The game is meant to be a simplification of society : The Emperor has ultimate power to give money (ie. most powerful card). Citizens cannot disobey him because they want money (ie. Citizen loses to Emperor). The Slave has nothing to lose and has no use of money, therefore the slave can defeat the Emperor (ie. The Slave loses to the Citizen card but wins over the Emperor card).

The game is played with one side having four Citizen cards and an Emperor card (Emperor side). The other side having four Citizen cards and a Slave card (Slave side). Since it is much harder for the slave side to win (as Slave cards can only defeat Emperor cards) the players of the Slave side get five times more winnings.
